Upcoming Summer Series

I'm sure i'll be corrected if i'm wrong, but very few people seem to know that the club are planning on running a 5 round summer series in the hall and on the carpet. I only post this to try and let as many of you know as possible, and to see if it is something that any of you would be interested in.

Feel free to post up on here with any ideas and suggestions. That we can then discuss at the upcoming committee meeting.

Would the club consider extending WGT to two heats if there was enough support? Numbers seem to have grown for this class over the winter and it's currently the only oversubscribed class for the rest of the winter championship.

I'm considering trying out one of these pan cars, but don't want to get a car and then have nowhere to race it.

Oh, and can we allow LMP shells please

Dates are already on the "Race Info" tab from the front page of the web-site.
Not sure about another BIG MEET - it would have to avoid all the other meetings and championships that go on in the summer (but there is a committee meeting coming up)!

As far as I know (because we don't know how popular it will be) it may well be "turn up and race" rather than book in advance. No decision has been made yet.

Out of interest, would you object to scale replicas of real Le Mans cars? Is it just the 12th and 8th scale style LMP shells that you object too?

No I think any scale type shell looks great going round but having seen the current crop of WGT's going round and then seen the other week that someone had an LMP style shell I think that the class should be run in the spirit of the rules ie WGT bodies will be representative of cars that are front-engined, two-door GT cars. I understand that the comment made was the LMP shell was no worse in terms of handling but then again no better (although I have to say the comment was 3rd hand) so where's the point in running one?
