We decided 15 would be the limit for the winter as basically we can't fit anymore on the track. The start is the biggest problem with the first car away very nearly catching the last cars before they even left the line.
We did spend some time discussing where time could be saved in other areas to enable an extra heat but not enough would be gained without passing the 2pm curfew.
Up until round 4 the most Mini's we had seen was 8 in a race so as you can imagine seeing 15 entering kind of caught us by surprise. A nice surprise but never the less an unexpected one.

More transponders have been ordered to try and stop the problems of round 4.

Come the summer there will be the usual short fall in Touring Cars and therefore we will be in a position to open the entries up to more Minis by adding extra heats. :D

guess you mean no funny smelling stuff?

John

Its not that the smell I'm worried about although we obviously only approved odourless its the ingredients of the additives. Some additives used with foam tyres dont mix with what we use on our rubber ones and it makes the track greasy.

btw. If anybody requires spares for this week I am happy to bring them along. Please just ping me a list of what is required (if thats ok with the committee).

I dont see it a problem on the spares front if its keeping people racing.

Is the Nosram additive ok?

If not can you reccomend one you are happy with.

It might be worthwhile reminding people during a drivers briefing that only water based, odourless additives are allowed on carpet.

As far as I am aware, the additives below are the only water based additives available in the UK:

LRP Carpet (dark blue label)
Nosram Carpet (red label)
LRP Carpet 2 (light blue label)
Corally (same container as the above, just the Corally label on the container tube)
Corally Carpet Jack (not Jack the Gripper)

Tim.

Great days racing today. I'm not sure who designs the tracks but superb today.

It would appear that the Mardave vs Tamiyas are fairly equally balanced looking at the finals listing!

Also impresssive that only two laps divided first and 9th.

Got to say, I wish I'd found this club a few years ago.

Totally agree what a great days racing!
Don’t know what the results of the final was & I don’t really care because I was enjoying myself to much & having a good time with everything being so closely matched. :D

Actually it is Grant who designs and builds the tracks (with help from Luke!).
Ian and I both commented on the fact that todays was an excellent flowing track.
