Mardave Class

Hello all my Mini fans!
What would be the take up on a Mardave class if we were to introduce them?

I am just testing the water but it is an idea we batted around at the last meeting when a couple turned up and raced in amongst the Mini's.
As the software can handle a fair few cars the outcome was that if we did get more to come they would again join in with the Mini's but there would be two classes in one race so to speak. For example Class A and Class B.
The only thing I can think of that could cause an issue the the difference in speed and to keep that to a minimum the Mardaves really should limit themselves to a silvercan. But then I assume most run with these anyway ??

Well then :D ?

hi shawn i would certainly be interested in doin that altho currently my special chassis is lookin a lil worst for several crashes with a crack right across it! sure a few more would be interested too and a word of warnin the caterham looks great but....... lipo??? doesnt fit!!! front wishbones are exposed too so there easily broken! altho i will say the mardaves are pretty strong and generally very quick and also handle pretty well

Ah, Johnny. It's that cheap grade expensive A1GP Carbon Fibre you are using :lol:
Could be why Team Indonesia are doing so badly perhaps ;)
The Caterham version was something that took my eye as it is again something different, but yes I did notice it was a narrow shell and suspected Lipos will need to slim down first.

...Mardaves. There must be a few kicking about out there somewhere.

Well I think we should just run anything in the one heat. The Mardaves do seem to go well. The thing is the more we run the more people will want to come and race. I had a chap approach me on Race chat about us doing Mardaves so I just said come along. With Maritime running them we may aswell run them too.

For all of us that have sold all their Nimah cells a charging/discharging and equalising equipment this can only be good news as it opens up a whole new world of Mardaves and 1/12th. Oh and also this brand new class http://www.rc10.com/ae/10r5/10r5_home.htm
All three of my Serpents are up for sale so who knows where the arrow will stop?

Due to recent flagging numbers we need to encourage as many Tamiya Minis and Mardaves to join in a possible if we are to keep our newest, cheapest and personally most fun class alive and moving forward to the coming seasons.
I am really quite surprised it hasn't taken off as much as I expected it would :?

Look out for the reverse grid in the final though, it causes all sorts of sandbaging ( allegedly :lol: )

Morning all,

I will be joining you this Sunday. New driver to the club so please be gentle.

Could you advise

a. do you race 4 or 6 cell in the mardave class
b. is their anything that is not acceptable on my car.

If anyone has an idea of tyres to use i'd appreciate the heads up, as I am only used to going round in circles!

hi there simon i used my mardave clone there for the first meetin of the mini class and was runnin a lipo altho when we run them at maritime some guys use four cell and are just as quick...... maybe driver talent is the reason behond this....
anyway tyres wise i was using ufra pink mediums all round with the front outside side walls superglued to dial out the grip roll! can also use jap44 on the front which are harder and require very little superglue(but it may understeer)

I've got some 44's so i'll start with those. Would rather avoid going the superglue route if possible.

I'll start with 4 cell and see how we go. iwould like to use LiPo if poss as it saves messing about discharging etc.. also means one pck should last the day!

i have geared to 16 48. Does that sound about right?
