Someone may find that they left an extension cable behind today.
It's yours if you can describe it in the minutest of detail! ;)

On a different note it was much better today after a good sweep up. Sorex 28s worked well for me once the temp was up.

Would it be worthwhile to repeat the process with the brooms and blower next meeting?

I should think so.
Do it often enough and we may manage to remove the grit permanently?

Mind you all that manual labour didn't do my hands much good.
The two rather impressive blisters I gained stopped me driving to my usual high standard... ;)

Especially on the left and right handers with straights in between :)

A good mornngs racing not that I could find much of what you might call grip!!
However where was everyone??
The die is obviously cast for this summer champs but perhaps there's a message there for the committee when they start to look at where we race next summer.

The venue is fine but the surface we use is not, in its present condition the surface is plainly not suitable. If we continue to use this surface why should the club members have to clean the surface, I can't see the tennis players sweeping the surface so that they have a suitable surface. The school should be pushed very hard to have the surface cleaned and the surface repainted so that both the club and the tennis players have a surface suitable for the use that both club and tennis players pay the school for.
Additionally, what would happen if one of the tennis players was to slip on the surface (in its current condition) and injure themselves? The school may find themselves liable, so it may be in the school's interest to sort the surface out.

hi guys.
the club has all ways been a made up track and run on car parks or tennis courts because of this the surfise is not going to be that good.
all we can do is make the best of what we got.
we all do car racing for fun and its down to us racers to find a way to make the cars work.
as for the tennis court the grip will get better but it will never be as good as a purpose built track or carpet.
so come on guys do what we all do best have funnnnnnnnnnnnnn. :D

well said Dave.
With time the grip should hopefully come back to us. It is only due to the recent building work that it has deteriorated so much and it was only 12 months ago since people were raving about how much grip it had.

It has actually improved a lot over the last few months.
Who remembers me mentioning I seized a black can up when it filled up with the grit whilst trying tyres out during the penultimate round of the winter series.

We don't really want to be getting up at 6.30am during the summer to put the carpet out.
It's the only rest we get :)

I know that we are not racing on a purpose made track and as such we cannot expect too much when we have to share it with the school and other users. But I think that we can expect more than what we are getting. I think that the school should play its part and provide a surface that is at least clean - the lack of grip we can work at (or at least try).

Richard - I suggest you make your thought known to Ian, as he is the committee member charged with school liason, to see if he can encourage some type of cleaning etc.
