It's not an idea that does anything for me!

So not exactly a ringing endorsement!! :)

It has been suggested that we ought to consider racing indoors on carpet all year round.

The trouble is keeping the majority happy. I'd race whatever the outcome

Before everybody leaps into action (well excluding Brian!), perhaps it ought to be asked why have these suggestions come up? Is it just to try something different, or is it general dissatisfaction with racing outdoors (track surface, weather, etc.)?

The tennis courts haven't been a problem for the last two years and infact we had people coming to us because the grip was so good.

It's only since the building work has happened that the situation has arose so surly have a proper clean up and the problem goes away?
If it should be the school cleans it or the club is another chapter (we do it and the school give us 1 weeks free hire)

Anyway, as much as I like the carpet I much rather be outside when the sun shines.

I'm stuck in a windowless room 5 days a week so come hometime I have had enough of being indoors.

Richard I thinks its since the track conditions have been so bad I mean I'm sure you remember yourself how much grip there was!!

To be fair, I have noticed an improvement in grip levels as we have gone through the summer championship. The dust appears to make the grip levels more susceptible to temperature variations than in the past.

Dan

Steve did visit with the blower and do the entire area plus the rain we've had recently has helped by washing the dust off. Probably a mixture of these two things has improved the grip.

I expressed my views on what, I think, should be done about the outdoor track surface earlier this year. The hope that the rain and/or the use of a blower will overcome the problem is probably wishful thinking - it's just relocating the dirt, etc., around the track area. As there are only four more meetings this year, I suggest that we just hang on for the rest of this season and then decide what to do about next summer during the winter period of this year.
