Tyres for mini

Postby BODYMOT » Wed Jul 07, 2010 11:28 am

Tyres for mini, Grant did tell me Sunday but forgot (old age) think they was s-grip Tamiya all round, if anybody knows name or part number and some were in UK I can order them, will need wheels as well. Really enjoyed Sunday, first time with Tam and looking forward to the next one. Never thought I say this but enjoyed it more than Touring cars.

Ben, you probably have had fun - it's just that at your age you can't remember it.

What speedo you need Tim, I know of a shop that has stock of the EECC speed control used at EECC in the minis? ;)

Another tyre worth looking at could be the new Tamiya 60d Type B slick; part number 54216.
http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=54216

I'm using them on the front and even though the description says for hotter track temperatures they do work really well on Tarmac on a Wednesday evening, even when the it gets cooler. Can't comment on carpet use though but don't see why the wouldn't work.

They have stiffer side walls so grip role is limited too and my biggest plus point is; they don't seem to wear out. Two meetings in and there's still a moulding line around the centre.
