Visitor Questions

Postby Dog. » Sun Mar 06, 2011 9:43 pm

Hello!

Myself and a friend are interested in the club you have running (I'm in Sevenoaks, he's in Tunbridge Wells), and we wanted to come and have a look at the club.

I've got a few questions first though;

- Are we able to come on any race day to JUST have a look?
- Can we turn up to have a look at any time between 7:00am and 2:00pm? (I assume that those times for the race days are correct).
- Are there any days where no racing occurs, and there are just practices? Or is the track only set up for the set rounds of the championships?

Thanks,

Simon.

Hi Simon,

1). Yes anyone is welcome to just come and look anytime that we are there whether it's a practice or a championship meeting.
2). Anytime between 7.00 and 2.00 is fine. We arrive to set up at 7.00 with racing starting at 9.30 and usually finish racing around 1.00 but are there until 2.00 clearing away. I would suggest that if you are planning to visit that you e-mail me in advance at brian@wkrcc.co.uk and I can give you the club mobile number as sometimes the school gates close after everyone has arrived.
3). When we have a practice meeting, it runs exactly the same as a championship meeting (with heats and finals) bu there are no championship points to be earned. This gives drivers the opportunity to test set ups.

Hope that helps.
Regards
Brian

Just thought of another question, :)

- Are the meets fortnightly?

Thanks,

Simon.

I think I might have to, if I'm not scheduled with anything else.

If I like what I see, I'll need to be getting a car suitable for the classes you have. Most likely a Tamiya Mini, since I'm new to racing.

I do have a 1/14th Sportwerks Recoil [David Spashett Edition] with Mamba Micro Pro ESC, Mamba 6800kv Motor and a 3S 1800 Mah Lipo.

Would I be allowed to have a quick whiz during practice around the track, or is use of no class cars strictly forbidden?

I've had a look at the rules and I read that Non Hardcase Lipos are not allowed - My Turnigy Lipo is not hardcase.

Thanks,

Simon.

Just to let you know that it won't be this Sunday that we will be visiting - we both have things on the agenda.

Thanks,

Simon.
