m05 suspension setup problem

i recently fitted some of the tamiya m chassis alloy dampers (part number 54000)

and at the front it is too low even with the adjusters wound right down. when i built them the instructions said to include a O ring below the piston on the piston rod, i'm thinking this is causing the lack of adjustment?

what did you guys do when building your's?

gotta sort this before tomorrow lol

Have you got the correct bottom mount on?

should i be using the longer one? it seems very long?

i've removed the o rings so far but should i just leave them in and run the longer bottom mounts?

Hmm seems odd that you have a problem. Best thing is to build them as per instructions and if you can get down fairly early we will be able to have a look before the racing starts.

I don't know what "O" ring or spacer you have put under the piston, but with one black "O" ring there isn't enough travel left to get the ride height when using anything other than a 60D tire. If it's marginal as to how much more travel you need, you could always undo the shock ends to give a bit more travel but you have to be careful otherwise the shock end isn't on securely enough to withstand a crash, and you have to make sure that the shock ends are screwed/unscrewed evenly.

From memory the shocks should be built to 56mm end to end.
However that is with 60d tyres though.

Hmm, I can't remember doing anything special with mine either. Get down early and we'll take a look.
