East Kent (Brookland) / Eastbourne / West Kent inter mingle

As this seems top be gaining interest fairly rapidly I have started it's own thread:

As you may all be aware we have a rather large 8 week gap at the end of the Summer season and we are bouncing an idea around of having a 3 Meeting / 3 Club / 3 Track mini series to give us some experience of neighbouring clubs and types of layout.
The dates I have come up with are as follows:

21st September - Brookland (existing meeting) VERY Large Track
5th October - Eastbourne (nothing booked on their calendar) Smaller and tighter
19th October - WKRCC ( extra date ) Carpet

Once we get an agreement from each of the clubs we shall work out a format to base it all around.
For your information there is already a thread going on the Eastbourne site and can be found here:

Of course Sidcup racers can enter if they want.
Things are at a very early stage at the moment and nothing has been agreed on yet. Depending how it all goes it may still only even be a case of visiting each others tracks with no championship involved anyway.

I was thinking of who had tracks available on a Sunday and to be honest with you that is probably what caused the lapsed of concentration.

Don't know Andy.
I haven't had any feedback from really, so I would hazard a guess and say probably not.

We are away for the next fortnight so nothing is going to get sorted from my end now. I expect I will spend the 8 weeks doing my own thing and go where it takes me. Loads of big car racing to be getting on with and it will be nice not to be tied down to anything for a while at least.

Sorry.

We are still up for it...

Can we decide on this forum being the one we check for updates for this new series, then we know where to come.

Do we know what software they run at Brooklands, if it is RC Timing a championship will be easy enough to set up, just the club part of the championship will have to be manually worked out.

The dates seem fine, we can bring ours forward into sept if you like, we don't mind at all running it on a summer championship date as this will mean the clubs drivers will already be there.

In the meantime, feel free to come race at eastbourne, it isn't that far, and on production of your west kent membership card you can expect a massive £1.50 reduction on the sunday non-member fees. ;)

Makes sense to have just the one thread doesn't it.

I was speaking to Richard H at our last meeting and he said you Eastbourne lads were very enthusiastic about the idea.
Since then though it has all gone a little flat and time has past by to a point of where I am now away for a fortnight.

I will speak to Tim (F) and see if he wants to finalise things.
Regarding Brooklands; they were using handouts at their first meeting with no provision for PT's.
I am not aware of any immediate plans to alter this...

How are club points allocated in the slcc?
With the possibility of different team sizes and members at each of the rounds I couldn't think of a sensible solution.

Steve, it is my understanding that Tim is dealing with this and waiting for the other clubs to get back to him as to whether or not this will even happen, so the finer details are a way off being decided on I would think :?
