What are touring cars running?

Hi,
I know I won't be at the first round of the Winter series or many others actually, but, I have had a few racers ask me today what are you actually running this series.
Is it 13.5 Boosted Brushless, 13.5 Blinky Brushless,17.5 Blinky Brushless or are you running both? .......You will just have 2 heats one for 13.5 whatever and one 17.5 Blinky?
As I have said some don't know what West Kent are running for touring.

Andy

We are offering both and we will see who wants to run what. I think it will depend on numbers as to how many heats we will run the same as it does the other classes. I am personally hoping that 17.5 is what people will want to run as that's a much more managable speed making the move from minis much easier.

Thanks for that chaps.
One thing you need to consider ( I'm sure you have anyway) the speed difference between Boosted 13.5 and 17.5 Blinky.
Having run booth over the last two weekends, it's at least 2-3 laps over a 5min round and the closing speed on a straight is massive.
I think even top racers would have difficulty running both in the same heat.
So, what if 2 touring car racers turn up thinking they can run 17.5 Blinky and then 2 think they can run 13.5 Boosted, that's going to put an extra round in just for 2 touring car racers or maybe take a large bag for the bits afterwards.
I'm not trying to be funny here, I'm just letting you all know what might happen. It's sending out a mixed message.
I do also understand that you are trying to put in a "between Mini and fast Touring car class" and we have to applaud the club for what you are trying to do.
Go luck to all racers over the winter and I hope to get down from time to time.
Andy.

It's catch 22 to be honest Andy, we're damned if we don't try something and potentially damned if we do. The decision is to offer the option and see how it pans out, the consensus being that it is worth trying.

Dan

Fingers crossed for it, will be watching with interest to see the demand.

Last year you nearly didn't run 12th's and look what happend to that :)

It could be good for TC too.

Yep, quite agree Darren - it's hard to know which route to take for the best.

I'm actually thinking about running my touring car and seeing if I can get some others along to boost numbers, especially as 12th is now firmly established. If I do, I will definately want to run 13.5 boosted, might bring it with me on Sunday and make a decision on the day.

Terry ill be down with 13.5 boosted. I originally thought it was both motors in the same class, but both running blinky. maybe that could be another option
