Round 10

Postby Dan Hamblin » Sun Mar 29, 2009 3:13 pm

Excellent race meeting today, despite the relatively low turnout :)

Thanks to Brian and Ian for running the meetings, Grant for building the tracks and the early morning crew for getting all the gear into the hall.

Here's hoping we get better weather this year for the Summer Championship :D

Regards,

Dan

Thanks Dan.
We just need to decide on rules for mini/mardave outdoors.

IMO MIni's / Mardaves outdoors can remain as they are. The cars seem very close.

If drivers want to use the Tamiya brushless system (which is touted as the replacement of the black can) they can compete on a level playing field by using a 18T pinion intsead of 20T.

Regarding tyres, we need to monitor the wear over the first few meetings. If it is exessive then there may be a justification to use a harder, lower priced tyre. If the tyre wear is within a parameter acceptable to the majority then again we should stick with the existing rules.

Tyres are the greatest leveller in racing. Power is wasted without control, so if the club decided to have a control tyre this would even the field.

just my 2p. I'm looking forward to racing outdoors with fwd. Another first for me.
