I do believe we are getting somewhere ! :D

Keeping them simple, how about these?

. Any Mini Wheel. (actual diameter; edge to edge is 1 and six eights of and inch or 42mm)

. Any Mini Tyre.

. Black Can with Tamiya TEU 101-BK speedo

. Everything else the same as Eastbournes rules http://www.eecc.co.uk/downloads/mini_rules_2008.pdf

Some people have already re-worked their chassis' to allow the squarer Lipo's to fit so to say no chassis filing is probably being a little picky. And to be honest there is no performance advantage of running the larger capacity packs.

Sounds fine to me.

Obviously if we are able to add

"or tamiya brushless system system using a 16T pinion" I'd be happier :D (just so I can use it a bit)

Only 2 alterations needed to those suggestions.

1. No brushless permitted - (to keep cost down)
2. Either go for any stock motor or instead say 540 OR black can - no good with black can only given their poor availability.

by jones i think it is there

2 main rules

1. tyres must be no bigger than (what shaun said up there) and in a 1.5" rim

2. tamiya black can or silver can with eurocup rules on the speedo (teu101 teu302 or any waterproof speedo under £50 rrp)

anything else goes (can't see any non tamiya hop up being that much better or make that much difference to tamiya ones)

how simple is that

SECONDED and done.... hopefully :D

This is dragging on a bit now and we need to call it there I think..... Pleeease....... Brian......Old Pal ;)

27turn will be way too pokey to give the front tyres any chance of surviving any length of time.
Black cans are readily available again and if push comes to shove a silver can can go in. Never know it may even be better given the lack of grip outside at the moment.

right every one here we go . any tyre being mini size is very good. as for the black cans what is the point of useing a motor that is not ready avaleble in the uk' looked in brca shop guild found 21 shops that sell tamiya stuff only 2 had them.
all so we will all be racing on a dirty tennis court so do you not think it wood be better haveing a motor that we can tack a part and clean.
the club is trying to bring new blood in to the club.
so dad turns up with his son who has a mini got it from local model shop .he has killed the silver can and went to get a motor but he wanted more speed so he put in a 27 stock because the shop do not sell black cans.
dad has not got the net.
so can he race yes/no

Out of interest what is the performance difference between silver and black can?
We obviously can't say we will run black can only if they are not widely available - whatever we specify must be on sale at a local model shop and not be something you can only buy via the web from Hong Kong!

i am still with you about that davep but i just didnt want to seem like a mass winger (or whatever) seeing as i am a newbie

like you said still not any black cans about but i reckon it will improve (did tamiya nick a load for the eurocup?)

i am still up for using 27t stockers, maybe with smaller pinions but many people are against it

have found out that hpi and ansmann are doing sealed motors (in stock too) from 27t to 21t maybe this could be a good compromise

http://www.ansmann.de/cms/racingroot/engine/electric.html

23t clash motor (same winds as black can)

oh, they are cheap too

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ANSMANN-RACING-CLASH-23-MOTOR-23-TURNS-TAMIYA-540-TYPE_W0QQitemZ370182154893QQihZ024QQcategoryZ34063QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247

brian, silver cans are pretty slow and they are getting pricey now too

Tamiya figures are

Standard silver can 20,000 rpm
Black can 26,000 rpm
tamiya Brushless 26,544 rpm
Ansmann Clash23 27066 rpm

On my dyno at 8.4v all new motors

Standard silver can 19,900 rpm
Black can 24,100 rpm
tamiya Brushless 26,100 rpm
Ansmann Clash23 26,100 rpm

eta

The Ansmann (and T BL) would need to be run with a 18T pinion to get the same top speed as the black can.

surely that is the awnser

for the cheapskate that can only order from a shop (my self included there) the clash 23

for the cheque book racer (you know who you are ;) ) the brushless system

at that price would could buy nearly 3 motors (clash 23) to one black can so would always have a spare, the club could buy a couple for new racers to bolt in and you get a motor that is the same make throughout as oppose to 27t stockers and as it is ansmann available

plus the clash is a direct bolt in replacement with bullet commectors already fitted to mount upto the tamiya speedo

thanks simon for the results helps a lot (in my tiny head anyway)
