Wow !
Just Googled it; 7.99 with free postage on Ebay!

That was in the UK but on the net though.
Does that still count?

I'm ok with it.

I can hold them. AK modelsport who supply all the mardave stuff stock Ansman

Can I ask then, are we proposing

Silver / Black can Tamiya with any pinion.

Ansmann / tamiya BL with 18T pinion

Do we even need to limit the pinion to 18t for these motors?
2000 RPM out of a total out of 26,100 probably isn't going to make much difference is it?

There was hardly any difference between 18 and 20 teeth when using the brushless last week... and that was with grip :)

I'm fine with Black Can / Silver Can or the Annsman. I would rather use them than the Brushless, mainly because I don't need to keep swapping the electrics around.

I was thinking a 10% top end difference could be managed by a 10% pinion change.

Also meant that as the Ansmann was the same top end as the BL we could include it for the "chequebook" racers (or those who already have one), and give equality to the black cans.

Otherwise the ansmann will be noticably quicker than the black can, which is itself quicker then the silver (happy to lend you one if you want, i already have them for saloon stocks)

OR just say rules is rules. Black or silver can only. Its wrong to rule out one motor because of price, when another motor with the same rpm is allowed because of it's price.

eta. Whatever the rules i'm happy. Just offering thoughts, not whinging (that's how it's spelt Ian!)

thanks simon my spelling is atrocuos :D

i would be up for an 18 tooth to keep it square with the black cans

however like shaun says 200 rpm isnt going to make much difference a good charged lipo will have more volts than a nicad anyway

all i want is to race, not use all the cheques in my book and not get left looking like a spanner down the straight

it is hard to keep everyone happy but i feel that it will all be for the best

So we have agreement on the open tyres ? Yes or No
I am going to stick HPI's on mine and I'm going to Eastbourne for the next few weeks with mini me to get some practise in for the world cup. Will update on those in due course.

Motors.
My brushless is now in a buggy and rips the turf up over the park quite happily :)
That will not be going back in the Mini...

In keeping with the spirit of the class I suggest either black can or silver can if you are really stuck.
But also now the Annsman motor has been mentioned I am liking the look of it.

Cheap an available.... ticks all the right boxes for me.

After all this technical jargon we will probably find it's the tyre that get's the power down the best that makes all the difference anyway...

shawn did you not say you did not want to use blackcans because of the holes in the motor would pick up to much dirt'
the silver cans/anssman motors have the same size holes and they will all pick up dirt.
the 27 stock is easy to get hold of/can be striped and cleaned/and will out last the 3 above.

no not entirely correct;, what I did say was...
the dirt entering the holes could be an issue and perhaps we should find an alternative motor.
Tried tape over the hole last week and didn't have a problem with overheating.

Black cans have been my preferred choice all along and it has only been their availability that has led to the Annsmann being found.
