Brushless motor systems

Postby Dan Hamblin » Mon Jul 13, 2009 8:24 pm

I've just looked at my 19t brushed motor again after it gained some minor heat damage during Round 3, and it appears to be ever so slightly chargrilled...

So, time to go brushless :D

I'm a little bit out of sync with current developments in the world of R/C cars so could some kind souls make a few suggestions as to a good motor and speed controller combination for 10.5 and 13.5 brushless please? :)

Cheers,

Dan

Dan

Depends on your budget but get a Novak 13.5ss motor and an LRP tc sphere speedo if you can afford it. Nothing wrong with any of the current speedos but the LRP is about the best for less than £200

I agree with big timmy The novak motors are good as are the orion vortex.s and i've heard good things about the redline motors too. As for speedo LRP and Nosram do pretty good speedos and then there's always the Tekin for the tart factor. Losi do a good budget one as do speed passion

Cheers guys - I'm leaning towards the LRP range, as I have used LRP in the past :)

Dan you ned to get the Novak motors though as they perform best and can take more punishment especially if you get the gearing wrong.

Small spur gears on order ;)

Shawn - I'll have a look at it on Sunday if I may, but I'm in no hurry to get the 13.5 motor as I won't need it until October.
