newbie here

Postby Mark87 » Tue Sep 06, 2011 4:31 pm

hey there

i'm new to this although having previous rc car's like a tl01 when i was younger but i now have a tt01 ( i know its not amazing) but i wanted some advice as i am interested in coming along to this club and was wondering what peoples opinions were on making my tt01 at least competent around the track so i can hone my driving skills so i can move up to something faster etc eventually

i have a lrp runner plus digital reverse esc from my tl01 i know its old technology compared to the new models but still worth using initially as i am on a budget?

also in regards in running in the stock class

it says on the website

• Stock

13.5 brushless or 17.5 brushless/27 turn brushed

does this mean there are two classes as i was considering upgrading the motor so i would probably go for the slower of the two which i'm gussing would be the 17.5 bl/27t brushed rather then the 13.5 bl?

also would it be okay to pop along to this sundays meet to check out the club etc?

looking forward to getting going on this

regards

Mark

Hi Mark,

Certainly some down on Sunday and see how the racing goes. I'm sure Brian will provide the club mobile number soon so that you can get in after the gate has shut.

Racing with rubber tyres on carpet takes a little bit of getting used to and there are some little tricks to use to help things. Advice about motors etc is best given face to face. Unfortunately I won't be there on Sunday so I will have to rely on one of the others to do it!

Kind regards,

Hi Mark

Nothing wrong with the gear you have as we all needed to start somewhere.

Do you have any race experience?

I ask as it may be worth trying the out our club mini to get used to the circuit and an RC car on a track.
Best thing to do is get down to the club and take a look for yourself. look for the old boys in Race Control and they will point you to a suitable person to advise you.
Any of us will gladly help but you cant beat viewing it all yourself.
