mini oiled diff

mini oiled diff

i know most people are running the oiled diff. ive had mine in fo a while now and was going to give it a rebuild. what oil is everyone useing in theres. also do you guys rebuild it on a reguler basis or just keep running it

Hi Stu i use kit oil it works good on carpet had it 3 months needs its second rebuild now tbh

Likewise, kit oil in mine although I think it needs a top-up so may try something a little heavier this time.

What advantage do people find with the oil diff over the ta03 ball diff??..and what one are you using?...as may have to get one! :D

I'm using the 3 Racing one Symon, which when you search it says it's for the M06.
Started off with 300,000wt oil and although we had great drive out the corners there was a shed load of understeer of the way in.
The 7000 that's in it now is much better with a few promising laptimes but I'm considering putting 5000 in to see what difference that makes.

Now my question is; if there's less grip (Tarmac) do I go thicker or thinner oil? Logic says thinner to get the turn in but I'm not so sure

Hi Shawn,
Thank you....i had my ball diff quite tight at the big meet,and after driving jevs,which was quite loose...it felt like it was pushing on the corners,where as jevs rotated round the corners,felt much better..so have losened the diff to see if it makes any differance.....

And then you have Olly in the silver can class running standard diff to eecc std settings....

Are the oil or ball diffs really needed, doesn't seem like it in the silver can class at least???

i think because of the power difference between silver can and brushless you do need the oiled diff with the brushless motor. i run my car at the firt meet with eecc rules and was well of the pace. it has taken a different car brushless motor oiled diff and a few upgrades to get closer so has been a learning curve for me.
