Missing heat

Postby Luke Burley » Tue Dec 03, 2013 9:07 pm

Hi there,

Thanks for posting the results from the weekend. It appears that heat 8 has been left off. Is it possible to upload the missing heat?

Regards,

Luke

I'm afraid not, James gets the 100 as he was in the A final and therefore the highest placed F2.

I thought, like Tony, that the best laps and times in which ever final you were in got the 100? Would seem a bit silly if James got into the A final, pootled around for 5 laps - knowing that he'd get the 100 - and beat Tony who whizzed around in the B final and did 25 laps? I'm sure this has happened in the past and the one doing most laps quickest in which ever final got the 100.
Pete (not James, so he may disagree  )

It's one of the quirks of this system - pretty sure it is the same for every club up and down the country. Just because you are the only car from that class in a final doesn't mean you have to go slow; try and embarrass those drivers in the higher class!! ;)

Dan

Yea James would definitely be up for doing that!! If that's the way the points go that's fine :) we all know now. Get into that A final for the best points :D

Ahh, but that is a little general, if you make the A along with some others from your class, you will still have to race for the points.

It is a compromise around numbers in those classes and ability within the class. Obviously the best scenario is to have both classes running only drivers of the same class in the same heats and finals, but that is numbers dependant. If you get 15 mini 1 and 4 mini 2 running at a meeting the races have to be combined into say a 9 and a 10 car race rather than a 4, 5 and 10 car race as this brings the number of heats down. And then mixing the finals means you are racing again those with a similar speed and ability on that day giving you a better race.

The downside is when the finals decide the points available because you may get an easy 100 if you are the only one in a higher final.

Not sure if that helped ;)
