I think we had 12 going round the track at Eastbourne once - now that was fun :D but 14 going round, that would be fantastic :D

Well I'm not gonna worry about the manta ray ball diff then as it's against regs. We ran the mini as a 'Team Mattess' effort last Sunday, the plan was for each of us to run a heat with the fastest of the three of us doing the final. Mick has drive shaft problems on his TB-02 (I've told him to une universals over dog bones but some people never listen!), so he passed his run over to Jamie. I was running replacement steering arms cobbled from some HIP shafts with Tamiya ends, as Mick had cannabalised some of the M03 bits for his TB-02. Problem was they don't extend as far as the tamiya shafts so we had major toe out on the front wheels, so it couldn't be driven straight. Jamie did really well, but lost a wheel nut, and got overtaken by his own wheel pst the rostrum. Comedy moment. Have some parts on order this week so should get the all-important front wheels pointing forward. The M03Rs that Grant and Co were running seemed to handle well with the TRF dampers, and the Sport tuned motors give some good grunt down the straight. Think Grant also edged his tyres with super glue to eliminate excess grip. We ran near-bald radials on the back, with next-to new radials on the front and it ran really well. Well done guys for a top formula. Until next time...

I must admit that I really enjoyed the Mini racing - not a great deal of grip but it was fun to drive :D

Dan

And me !
I was smiling before I had even put the car down on the track

Now the round 1 times are up you can see the little mini's are not that much slower than the touring cars. My fastest lap was only 2 seconds off my tc times.
So not bad for a basic front wheel drive chassis costing hundreds of pounds less than it's bigger brother me thinks.

oh and the loctite came out today so there will no more suspenion arms falling off next time

I have checked and what DanH says is correct - RC-Timing can handle 100 cars per race
